About Us

Different life stages of an insect next to a US quarter.

Spotted Lanternflies

These invasive insects arrived in the US in 2014 and have now made their way to New England.  So far, they have been spotted in 150+ towns and cities in Massachusetts.   Lanternflies feed on trees and vines, leaving behind a sap that fosters damaging mold, greatly endangering the plants' health.

Please download the sheet below for how to identify them and what to do if you find them.

Note:  If you do not believe that lanternflies have been found previously in your town, you should report them to the state. See link at the very bottom of this page.
